L’Etabli is the large restaurant on the corner facing the bottom lift station and a great spot for eating and drinking in St.Jean D’Aulps. It is a typical Savoyard restaurant open for lunch and dinner. The menu features a range of dishes, but if you eat here, we recommend sticking to the local specialities, steaks, and pizzas rather than the other dishes. They also make excellent Irish Coffee!<\/p>\n

L’Efanle is located underneath the Skiset ski shop opposite the lift station, playing music outside. This bar\/restaurant opens at noon until late at night. The food differs slightly from the other restaurants. You can eat local dishes, burgers, steak, and ribs, or choose from the daily specials. All the dishes are reasonably priced and pretty good, making it a good option if you have kids. L’Efanle is also a great option if L’Avalanche is busy.<\/p>\n

Bar Le National is next to the church in St. Jean D’Aulps. Run by Scotsman Craig, “The Nash” is an excellent pub for sipping beers with pizzas, ribs, chicken wings, and daily specials.<\/p>\n

Craig is a big sports fan, so you can expect to watch all the major sporting events. He hosts pool tournaments, quiz nights, and books bands most Friday nights. Alba is next door to Chez Toby and one of the valley’s best restaurants and a popular venue for eating and Drinking in St.Jean D’Aulps. Stacy and her team look after the front of house, while Alan works his magic in the kitchen. Alan’s food is exceptional, offering something different from the typical Savoyarde dishes. He changes the menu daily, but the highlight must be his Sunday dinners. Packed full of flavour, featuring local ingredients and those from his Scottish homeland.<\/p>\n

At the top of the main telecabine, you’ll find two restaurants on your left-hand side. The first, L’Escale Blanche<\/strong><\/a>, has a large terrace overlooking the beginner area. This restaurant serves traditional Savoyarde dishes and daily specials. It can get busy, so get there early or book a table.\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The mayor of St.Jean d’Aulps owns this restaurant, and you can often see him looking after diners. He is also notorious for pouring poire (pear liqueur) into your mouth at the end of your meal.<\/p>\n

L’Escale Blanche also has a snack bar downstairs. Here, you can have a quick bite to eat while sitting on a deckchair in the sun.<\/p>\n

When you reach the top of the Torchon chairlift, you will see L’Embuscarde. This restaurant is an excellent stop-off just over halfway around the Tour de Roc d’Enfer. You can sit inside or enjoy the sunny terrace while sampling local delicacies. If you like a good steak for a slopeside lunch, L’Embuscarde is the place to go.<\/p>\n
